My first experience was not the best with some of the surf schools. I drove my scooter from Kuta Lombok in the morning, it’s around 30 minutes. I paid my parking fee which was IDR 10,000. Walking into the beach I asked about the surfing school I have heard good things about, Muls Surf School. I asked at one of the first surf schools I passed when entering the beach, but they said it was closed! I walked my way down to check, and of course, it was open. Therefore, check the reviews before you just choose a random Surf School.

Muls Surf School, one of the prominent surf schools in Selong Belanak, is known for its professional yet personal approach to teaching. They offer various packages, from short introductory courses to more intensive training sessions, all tailored to the individual’s pace and skill level.
I went with Muls Surf School and it was really good, no wonder why they have 5 stars! They speak good English and they also helped me a lot the days I just rented a surfboard without taking lessons! They are open from 08 to sunset.
It cost IDR 300,000 for private surf lessons, and IDR 50,000 to rent a surfboard for the whole day. I stayed in Selong Belanak so I could easily surf two times a day. If you want to learn to surf as quickly as possible then you should consider staying in Selong Belanak for a few days.
